On April 19, 2026, the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People, perpetrated by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 was celebrated in Russia for the first time.

On April 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia hosted a meeting of applicants to Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and graduates of the University of previous years, among whom there were employees of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry.
Eleven years ago, South Ossetia and Russia signed the Treaty on Alliance and Integration, which marked the new stage of the bilateral interstate relations.
Annually, on March 18, victims of the Ered tragedy – another confirmation of the policy of genocide, pursed by the leadership of Georgia against the Ossetian nation over a century, are commemorated in South Ossetia.
On March 6, in Moscow, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of South Ossetia Alba Azucena Torres Mejía.
On March 5, in framework of the working visit to Moscow, the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev visited a commemorative event, dedicated to the 13th death anniversary of Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, organized by the Embassy of Venezuela in Moscow.
On March 5, inter-ministerial consultations with participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev and the leadership of the 4th CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, engaged in the implementation of Russian foreign policy in Transcaucasia, were held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
On 2 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev took part in a round table discussion entitled “The Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Ossetia: Cultural Dialogue in the Modern World”, organised by the Unity Republican Public Association with the assistance of the Nykhas Republican Public Association as part of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
Due to the sharp escalation of the military and political situation in the Middle East caused by US and Israeli air strikes against Iran, amid diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis that took place the day before, the situation in the region is characterised as extremely unstable.
On 24 February, by decree of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia A.E. Gagloev, A.M. Dzhioev was appointed to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.

On February 17, in Tskhinval, a meeting was held between the South Ossetian delegation at the International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia with the Co-Chairs of the Discussions, representing the EU, the OSCE and the UN.
Key agenda points of the forthcoming 66th round of GID, scheduled for March 18-19, were discussed during the meeting.
