On 16 September, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev, where foreign policy activities of the ministry were discussed in the context of the upcoming 35th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Akhsar Dzhioev reported on the elaboration of issues related to foreign policy during the celebration of the 35th anniversary. He emphasized the significance of this event.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua Ludwing Jaentschke is expected to attend the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia”, he underlined.
The Minister stressed that active work is underway to maintain contacts with Russian colleagues.
“Thus, a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled for October 1 in Sochi, with the participation of the Abkhaz Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits”, he noted.
According to Akhsar Dzhioev, the meeting will be an important step in strengthening the bilateral relations and discussing current issues of cooperation.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also paying attention to other foreign policy areas. Work in this direction will continue with the aim of protecting and promoting the interests of South Ossetia in the international arena.
