Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic A.P. Statsyuk extended a note to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia A.M. Dzhioev in connection with the Day of commemoration of the victims of Georgia’s aggression against South Ossetia.
The note, in particular, reads:
“This day has been inscribed in the history of the Republic as the day of mourning and courage. South Ossetia found itself facing a terrible ordeal – a full-scale armed attack aimed at destroying its statehood, crushing its aspiration to freedom, attempting to eliminate the very identity of the South Ossetian people. However, having shown unity, selflessness and resistance, you, together with Russia, succeeded to defeat the invaders and defend the right to live in your native land.
While recalling the events which are reminiscent to the events of our own history, we in Pridnestrovie acutely feel the pain of the people of South Ossetia. The people of Pridnestrovie, who also faced armed aggression, know the price for peace and independence and fully share the grief of your losses.”
