On December 10, the end-of-year press conference of the South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev was held in the press center of the State Committee for Information and Press.
Akhsar Dzhioev reported on the work conducted by the Ministry during the outgoing year and emphasized that further development and strengthening of friendly relations and integration ties with the strategic partner – the Russian Federation - remains the priority area of the foreign policy.
The Minister noted that mutually beneficial cooperation continues with the states with which South Ossetia has established diplomatic relations, and comprehensive work on expanding and strengthening international ties is carries out. Certain steps to establish contacts with institutions of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, primarily, in humanitarian and cultural spheres were made.
A. M. Dzhioev stressed that participation of South Ossetia in the International Discussions on the Security and Stability in Transcaucasia, including in the context of unsettled relations with Georgia, which refuses of signing a legally binding document on non-use of force, remains an important line of work.
During the press conference the Minister answered a number of questions from representatives of mass-media.
